Brecon Beacons
Throughout my life the Beacons have been my home. Wherever I go, I constantly feel a steady pull to return. I know where I stand when amongst them- my life is thrown into some sort of perspective, and worries are diminished. It is then no surprise that much of my photographic work attempts to document them. I have included a small but thoughtful collection here.
Maen Llia
Bronze-age standing stone situated in the Brecon Beacons, near Ystradfellte. Legend has it that the stone goes down to the river, the Afon Llia to drink at Summer's Solstice.
'Hiraeth'
'Hiraeth' has become somewhat of a catchword in modern day Wales. It has done so for a reason. The word doesn't translate into English. The University of Lampeter likens it to a form of homesickness tinged with grief and sadness over the lost or departed, especially in the context of Wales and Welsh culture. This series of images was taken in Cadair Idris, North Wales.
